Located in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, the World Ceramic EXPO 2001 Gyeonggi-do Symbolic Sculpture project
was designed as a landmark lighting project representing the cultural identity and regional heritage of Icheon.
The defining characteristic of this project lies in transforming the symbolic form inspired by Icheon rice, a symbol of abundance and prosperity,
into a dynamic nighttime landmark through innovative lighting design. At a time when colorful architectural lighting was not yet widely adopted,
our team introduced a forward-thinking approach by utilizing expressive color lighting techniques to enhance the sculptural form and create a memorable visual experience.
Through the harmonious integration of light, sculpture, and landscape, the project established a pioneering example of landmark illumination,
demonstrating the potential of lighting as a medium for cultural expression.
